Definitely my favorite style of tank. The only improvement I could see for my 40 long (48x12x16) is if it was 16" wide and 12" tall. I saw a 135 years ago that was 72 long 24 wide and 18 tall filled with Africans that was totally sweet.

Just found out yesterday talking to a fellow breeder that long shallow planted tanks are great for breeding Barbs. We have 4 30L's one of them is a Julichromis factory.

Glass cages has a group of different tanks that are only 13 inches tall. The 70 wide is 48 x 24 x 13 and the 100 wide is 72 x 24 x 13. Someday when my kids are grown and I have more space in the basement I am setting up racks with those dimention tanks. That would be great, you could probobly go 4 high on a rack system.

I have a 72"x16"x16" tank. Kind of like a streched out 125G. I got it on Craigslist, and I believe it was originally used as a display tank (coral?) at a fish store. Not as extreme as the tank sizes you listed.

I LOVE the shape/size of the tank. The shallow depth makes it really easy to clean, and really unless you have pretty large fish, you don't need much more than a foot of water column height anyway.

Here's a pic of my setup:

Nice, it does have the look of an 8-10 footer

That is a tremendous tank, I love the fact that it's only 80 gallons as well, while having a superb footprint. You could legitimately do bigger fish in the 12inch range, and have plenty of room for territory etc

P.S more pics please!
