He looks like he maybe a blue. As for sex I would lean towards make but really at this stage it could still be either. I don't think anymore can definitely say it is M or F

I bought him as a Green Tex but he looks more like a Blue Tex to me. I think he's male cause he chases my Mayan and Green Terror around...

I'd say its a blue texas. Looks like it could be a male as it has a small bump on its head, but its too young to be 100% sure.

Maybe it's your lighting, but to me the dorsal looks like it has a very dark area, which usually indicates female. To compare, some photos below of Herichthys carpintus chairel
female

male

many of the Herichthys complex look very silmilar, and it would be difficult for me to differentiate by that pic, below a pair of Herichthys tamasopoensus

another shot when the tamo, was younger

Ya guys it appears she has a black spot by the dorsal fin also I have 2 female Convicts that are trying to breed with my male Flowerhorn in a flower pot and she's always up in the mix. Chasing them around and digging in the gravel. Yup in the background its Squidwards house my son wanted it...Here's some better pics.
