These are my favorite angelfish of all time. The wild angels are some much better looking than the tank raised crap.
Wild Peru ''Altum'' scarlet. I have 2 now, but getting another 2 tommrow. Peru Altums are better than True altums.

I'm not sure I get it. All mass reproduced common angels in the US are Pterophyllum scalare. There's a peruvian variant called Pterophyllum cf. scalare, "Peru altum". Is this the variant you just got?

There are several types of wild scalare from different locations. The Rio Nanay in Peru, The Santa Isabel from the Rio Negro in Brazil and the Rio Manacapuru in Brazil.

I have some nice Rio Nanay Peruvian scalare (pictured below) with a very pronounced nasil notch and I high dorsal fin with ling pectoral fins very reminisant of P. Altum.
