Hey y'all! I wondered if an Asian Needle-Nose Gar would be good long-term in a 55-gallon long tank.

I've already looked at a few threads here but couldn't find the information I was looking for. Before anyone says I'm nuts, most articles and sources said that they get up to a foot long in captivity, but most stay around the 7-10 inch range.

Thx in advance for any help!

P.S. What are some better alternatives for a top-dwelling predator if it is too risky? I'm not interested in halfbeaks or really small fish.

To skittish, fragile, big, and possibly brackish for a 55. African butterfly fish are a favorite of mine

Is there an Asian predator top dweller besides halfbeaks? I do love African Butterflies, but I'm trying not to mix more than two geographical locations.

Would Humphead Glassfish work with Discus? I've seen them around LFS, and I like their transparency (sorry...I couldn't resist the pun, Lol). Would also Dojo loaches be a good option?

Weather loaches/dojo loaches need it cooler and discus need it hot, not a good mix as one or both will suffer.
