Just got a 4.5" male from TUIC. Awesome transaction. He seems to be doing pretty well in his new 75g. He is the only fish in there and is a bit timid at the moment. I did my scheduled water change yesterday and now he is even more reclusive than before. He hasn't really taken to the Omega One cichlid pellets, but devoured some blood worms. I tried some raw shrimp but he was uninterested

I have read through several posts and there seems to be differing opinions on what to feed, but most seem to say that a good pellet is probably the best. I know he won't starve but has anyone had any success stories they wish to share in regard to the care of a singe juvenile Guapote?

Water parameters are in check
0ppm Ammonia
0ppm Nitrite
5ppm Nitrate
PH is around 7.6

I'm running a Fluval FX6 can.
Eheim Heater keeping the water at 78F.

Give him some time to adjust. He'll be less timid in time.
Are you planning on upgrading to a larger tank eventually?

I put a few floating plants in there I had from another tank. What are ya'lls thoughts on some temporary tank mates to increase food drive?
