Possible breeding behaviour for unlikely couple?

I have an Electric Blue Jack Dempsey (4.5 inch) and one male convict (3 inch) in my tank, but the convict keeps following the ebjd everywhere, always swimming aside it, which is strange for me, since he's usually aggro. They just follow each other around all day, so I can only suspect some sort of breeding behaviour.

Is that a possible breed?

I know the fry would be very, very weak since its an ebjd, so I hope I suspect wrong.

Possible, or just overt aggression; I've noticed similar in keeping convicts and JD's together, with the end result being negative. Keep a close eye

Ah, thank you. The convict seems all friendly and everything (which is strange) but the ebjd doesn't seem the most fazed, but isn't showing any aggression either
