Hello

I tried to get clear pictures but my camera kept focusing on the acrylic.

I can describe the "thing" as having a transparent bubble looking outside and kind of whitish inside.

The fish seems totally fine in every respect. Thankfully the eye is unaffected--for now.

Since this is the more shy of the pair, I'm not sure how long the growth has been there, but in a couple of weeks it does seem a little larger.

I need to know if there is anything I should do and if it's contagious.

can you catch the fish and take a picture. I think it ilooks like a growth but hard to tell. Do you have a qt tank it can go into?

OK, it seems to be getting a little smaller--not in circumference, but in how much it's protruding. The outside seems to be less transparent and more white than clear.

It's not a real old fish--I've had it 2 or 3 years. It's acting totally normal, and if it's a growth, then it shouldn't be contagious--so I'll leave him alone.

Thanks!
