looks like my pair of short body green texas and red parrot might have fertilized the eggs. i just looked at the eggs they laid the other night and took a couple snaps of the eggs with my camera phone but it's kinda blurry. also added a video of the parents. let me know what you guys think? is it fertilized? should i leave them with the parents or move them to their own tank?

hes actually kinda pretty... wat are the percentages that the spawn will be SB'ed with the parrots notched forehead ?

Don't know about the notched forehead but you will deff have sb fry, I'm guessing a very large percentage of these fry will be sb.

I currently am raising a few hundred sb Green Texas fry, I started this strain with an imported sb Tex female and a pure carpintis male. Mine look almost exactly like yours except the fins don't trail out so long as on your male.

First gen, normal dad, sb mom..

The fry I have right now are from the fish in the vid, oddly although all appear to be sb a few are definitely longer than either parent.

thanks for the info izzy, i like sb's so i hope to have both. this is my first time breeding so i hope they actually grow out. lol

that's what i'm hoping to do if i can get them to grow out. my first time breeding so i just moved the parents over to the other side of the divider just incase they eat the eggs.

just took a look at them carefully and saw about 5-6 wigglers on the bottom of the tank rolling around. i'm excited. lol
