Hey guys so I am going to be getting a 75g tank. I want to try to get 2 Erythrinus erythrinus and keep them together. I will be getting them small so I'm hoping they will be ok with one another. Is this a bad idea? If so what could I look into possibly keeping with one?

Secondly I see online names like Rainbow, Red, and Hi-Fin. Is there a difference between these? If so what is it? Also is a Purple Wolffish also a ery ery?

Thanks!

The names are the same fish. Purples are different because of collection points. But basically similar in care. Keeping 2 reds will be hard. One will likely pick on the other. Not usually successful. One member here has several a together but has a a lot wood/decor and big tank to keep each one busy.

Would advise to keep one due to the 75g. Will need a bigger tank for more than one. But if you keep one then can keep other fish with it for sure.

Ok awesome thanks guys.

I found a nice looking Purple for sale. Do they grow to a different size than the Ery Ery, and are they more or less active than an Ery Ery? Thanks!

Same size and activity. But feed about 2-3 times per week and will keep them more active.
