My House!
So I found out this morning that 3 of the 5 tetra species in my community tank are from South America, and was wondering if they could live with my two silver dollars in a S.A community type tank? The dollars are the only ones in their tank at the moment, and the tetras I want to put with them are bloodfins, glow lights and black widows.. Will my dollars try to eat the male glow lights? They're tiny and I'm worried that my male dollar may try eating them coz he's fair size (about 15 cm). Any help would be very appreciated, and thank you in advance.

How big is the aquarium? Imo my sd's would not go after the the tetra's you have, in all honesty need a lengthy aquarium just for their speed alone.

They're in a four foot 250ltr tank with a few plants and bits of limestone.. Will they have enough room? :)

Yes it will work for smaller species of SD's by any chance are yours spotted? I personally would have a net ready in hand for the SD just in case. All of the SD's I have raised were pretty docile except when trying to breed the mild aggression was just among them, just a lot of chasing by the male.:)

No they're not spotted. I think they're just plain old silver dollars. They get two black spots behind their gills when they're breeding but they don't look like the spotty ones I see at the LFS. They're all one shade of silver and have red 'lobe' shaped anal fins if this helps?

Also, thanks for the help. :D

So I've just released 1D (that's what I call my 5 bloodfins) and MCR (name of my widows) One Buck and Two Bux (dollars) don't seem to mind them, I'm about to put Queen (glow lights) in.. Wish them luck!
