I guess I just don't get it. Lately more and more I see this strain and that strain. Silly names given by people that have spawned a few fish in their tank. A few are going as far as having papers made up. Are you kidding me its a fish. Looks like people that don't have the space/time for dogs. Are focusing their breeding efforts on fish do everyone a favor and just quit it. The only labels that mean anything to me are WC, f1, f2 etc. If you want to breed pitbulls do it don't bring this nonsense to fishkeeping. Nothing against pitbulls I happen to own one great dogs best bud for life.

I believe the real issue is that everybody and their cousin are hybridizing cichlids these days, so flower horns and their progeny are the equivalent of the last millenniums state fair booby prize goldfish.
Go to a LFS and see if you can by a real cichlid such as a true trimac, and not some Pokemon inspired aboration, it is almost impossible, so without papers ( or some sort of respectable breeders assurance) your chances of getting something you think you really want is almost none existent.

I agree completely about flowerhorn and hybrids. You can't trust anything in lfs anymore. Pure Trimac forget about it might as well say you have a unicorn in your back yard. I've accepted the fact that you can't trust any CA is pure anymore. My issue is the line breed bullsnot fire this tiger that blah blah blah. Maybe I'm alone on it but I find it annoying

Perfect example....see right there where it says "ignore"? I just push that right there, and my day is no longer polluted with rude remarks. One of the best features on this site, I think.

I'm gonna defend a couple of those guys.
Blesone is an awesome dude. He knows what he is doing, takes excellent care of his fish and produces nothing less than A+ quality fish.
Same can be said for oriqua. He is a really cool guy and produces great looking fish. He also takes proper care of his fish.
Personally, I'm not that big a fan of bastardfish but he also knows what he is doing and has tons of experience with fish that most of us will never keep.
I get that some of you guys don't like them naming their strains but these guys aren't fish keeping noobs, they're not posting pictures of hybrids, and they could actually contribute to the forum if they weren't attacked every time they posted something.

Just let them post.

It's complete and utter idiocy and one of the reasons a lot of serious, knowledgeable aquarists don't come to the site anymore.
