You'd only need to breed them once. Adult females lay between 100,000 and 350,000 eggs per spawning (the eggs are commercially collected and dyed to make cheap caviar). Males guard the nest until hatching occurs. Fry immediately attach themselves to the substrate (like gobies).

Definitely funky looking, but I think that is what is cool about it.
Looks like a Drac from the old movie Enemy Mine.
I'd probably purchase one eventually if I had marine tanks.
That tire decor is a dog chew toy...interesting. ..

it is a lump fish they harvest them on the east coast for a poor mans caviar. they are pretty neat and the males? turn red when they are mature. they can get up to almost a foot long.

They are an extremely interesting and personable fish :) I've been able to keep 4 adults and about a dozen juveniles in the past.

The little guys sell here in the states for about $150 and the adults go for about twice that. So not all that spendy.

Normally found and collected in PNW (Pacific North West) and Puget Sound area. Saltwater fish with temps in the 55-60 F range. Commonly referred to as Lumpfish or Lumpsucker. Grow to be in the 12" (inch) range.
