What is the biggest alligator gar?

As i know, the biggest captive raised i have seen is 7ft long. We are breeding alligator gar in Asia, not wild catch like in the states.

I have some questions for you about breeding, if you have any info on it. Just some basic stuff like at what age or size do gar start breeding? What size pond or tank do you breed them in? Is there anyways to tell male or female? Sorry if these are stupid questions I've had gar a few years now I would just like to try to breed them for fun, if possible.

This particular fish has plenty of room. It's owner is definitely in it for the long haul. It is not even the largest fish in the tank.

It is my experience that many people can't "eyeball" sizes with any degree of accuracy. I'm always skeptical of claimed sizes without seeing something to reference against.

My Gator Gar Bruce is 5 years old this year and he is maybe a little over 2ft. I will get an accurate measurement this weekend. For now he is in a 10ft x 8ft x 3ft pond. I transferred him to the pond once he was a year old.

Biggest I've seen in captivity was a little under 5 feet biggest wild one I've seen was a 10 to 12 footer I used to see under a bridge, hasn't shown up in years tho
