White spots on blood red parrot???

When my parrots got ich, I added 1 tablespoon for every 5 gallons. (never used the table salt. Everyone I asked said not to because it is iodized...) anyhow. I raised the temp to 84, and turned of all lights and covered it with a sheet. I did this for a week. Haven't lost a fish to ich yet. (except when i first started and didn't know this lovely info

I'll also add that iodine is needed to survive, in fish too!
