Gomez sounds intersting. How did it turn out?
Post up some pics, i'd like to see how this looks.:)

Dang camera went dead while taking pic have to get batteries in town 30miles away Ill post pics this week

dark construction paper can be attached to the underside of the tank easily depending on your stand.

My fish and myself prefer a substrate. I tried BB tanks and it seemed like my fish were just freaked out all the time. They seem to need a "bottom" of the tank. Even my stupid goldfish.

To decorate my tanks, I've always prefered the natural look. Sand or natural/white gravel with driftwood and big rocks. I love the look of a bit of pothos trailing out of the top of my tank as well.

I'm rearing a young silver arowana, a fly river turtle, two cuvier bichirs and some corydoras together with a featherfin upsidedown. I also plan to get a motoro stingray soon. I'll be housing all of them in a 4ft tank very soon too.
Been thinking about what substrate to put in or whether i should just keep the floor bare??
I plan to put rocks (already have some in my current bare 2ft tank) and maybe some driftwood... is that a good idea?
I think painting the background and floor black is a pretty cool idea... but is that better? how do i exactly go about doing that anyway???

My new tank will be 36" tall, so I'm thinking that vacuming will be near impossile because you would need gorilla arms. I think I'm going bb to make life easier.

Can anyone with a bb tank post some pics?
