I have a 44 gallon hex and it has tetras, corys, hatchetfish, rams, and otos im also planing on adding some plants to it once i get a compact light. I was wondering what else i could add to this tank that is more unusual then what i already have but i also want to stay with the south american biotope. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks Aras :D

Angle fish or discus? I have no clue really. Those are the only fish I can think of.

For hex tanks you want to stock much lighter than with a normal tank. There is very little current at the bottom, so if you do go with otos or plecs, get a powerhead.

Those aren't south american
and a ugf works great in a hex tank along with a HOB, it really does get a verticle water turnover going.

Well you could add a farlowella cat, a hypancistrus inspector (www.datz.de), or aL264 leporacanthicus joselimai (Werner).
And Maybe a half dozen or so Thayeria obligua penguins (Hoffman) or the 6-8 blue tetras Mimagoniates microlepis (Sazima)

I have the return from my fluidized bed filter and canister filter on the bottom will that create enough current or do i still need a UGF or powerhead for this tank????
