wat can i mix with koi??

Hi. Im gana look for a Doughboy pool for a pond in my back yard. I went to my aunts and she had a huge beautiful koi and now i want to raise one to that size. I was wondering if i could keep anything else with them in the pool. It would Probly be 12ft round + pool. I live in so cal so it gets pretty cold around here in the winter. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Goldfish work. My uncle keeps bala sharks and tinfoil barbs in with his koi. He brings them in in the winter though.

well in the summer outside temp can get up to 100+ but mostly 80-90. In winter it has a high of low 70s

ill have to see. my friend has a pool and he covers it but only the top 2inchs are hot. the rest is probly under 60 but his pool is deep and in the ground. Ill figure it all out once i set it up
