I always do. Once I open a bottle I never resuse it so might as well finish it off unless your seeing signs of a bloom. I never have experienced a bloom from this product but others have.

Glad you found this thread useful. Do it and add the results to this thread too. You should add fish right away if your using Stability. No need for final stocking but it needs a food source.

Between your 560 and my 300 we will have really put this stuff to the test on large tanks... :D

what are signs of a bloom?

Is this stuff availible at petco or petsmart and how much will i need to buy?

I buy it at Petsmart for about $10 and one bottle (I think 8oz or so but will have to check the bottle when I get home) will cycle a 125g no sweat. Ben said there are larger bottles available but my local stores don't sell any that large. They think I am nuts :screwy: as it is.

Very cloudy water. Look back on the first few pages, a member added a pic of what their bllom looked like.

This is interesting. I've been reading up on alot of products, had terrible luck with nutrafin Cycle, and was directed repeatedly towards Tetra Safestart. While it looked promising, it didn't work so well either, not to mention nearly impossible to find locally. I'm going to try to cycle a tank with Stability also and test/record periodically through the process.

you got it bro, hopefully with enough participation we'll eventually get a good idea of what works and what does not, although it's highly subjective of course.

I've read that stability uses a form of nonaquatic bacteria, but as to whether that is true or not I have no idea, I recall reading their response was that more than nitrospira and nitrosomonas can be used in the nitrifying process, so whether they are using those specific bacteria types or not is irrelevant, as any bacteria will colonize and grow if given the right conditions.

I'm picking up a 32g bowfront tomorrow as a matter of fact so I'm considering it as a test subject =]

Worked for me every time I set up a quarantine tank ! Thanks for the great writeup and pics guys !

And your going to post your results throughout the cycle in this thread right??? I had doubts after a few bad experiences with other products as well until I read Ben say it was solid. I'm on team stability now too after a few successfully cycled tanks. A smaller tank like a 32g would be a great addition to the thread. Any members with a bad experience? We could use that feedback as well to help other members avoid mistakes.
