We eat cows eyeballs here too along with ants, locusts, day old chicks, frogs, etc... we even have jumping salad here where we get live shrimp and just put them in a vinaigrette the vinegar is what kills and cooks 'em...love balut with vinegar and rock salt, yum yum... :grinyes:
I gotta know what does a cows eye ball taste like??? it looks so squishy I need to try that one day.

When i was in the phillipines we would pay the local kids to eat those for us.

I ate monkey on a stick there. yummmmmmy spicy!!!

You guys haven't lived till you've had bbq placenta. That kid is gonna cost you money for the rest of your life. They might as well bring something to the table when they get here. :D

Tastes like nothing you've ever tried before and its texture is like that of the balut embryo, its served here as part of lugaw or congee to chinese people, its hard to describe the taste and texture, you gotta try it yourself..

I agree that eye is indescribable, parts are like thick slightly salted jelly but most is tough and chewy. I suppose that would also vary on how it is prepared.

Thats def. one thing of many on plan on trying before I die. hmm.

If you haven't yet, you should try fish eyes first, much more manageable. And you can keep the core of the eye, dry it and make an earring out of it.

Here's a picture of the eyes of a 4 foot barracuda I ate 20+ years ago:)
