Will these fish be compatible?

what do you guys reccommend for dithers? i was thinking zebra danios, giant danios, silver dollars, bala sharks, some kind of barb, or something else. i just want to be able to have a school of about 7-12 fish. possible two or more smaller schools of different types of fish.
 
Most of those fish will not school with each other. Like a danio isn't going to school with a tiger barb. So if you wanted to have schools of all those different kind together it won't work. Balas get way too big for a 55 and your going to want something smaller anyways since you have quite a bit in a 55. I would say maybe a school of 6 danios or tiger barbs would work best.

i know they wont school with each other i mean a few schools of different species each school consisting of a different species.

4 Tiger Barbs
4 Giant Danios
4 BLah BLah

but i think im just gonna go with the zebra danios since i have about 11 already.

lol yup, if i get a bigger tank all the fish im putting in the 55 now will go in there except for the dithers. and all the fish in my 20 will go in there and i will have the 55 community tank and the 20 will be used for convicts or something. or maybe a wet dry for the 55 :D
 
Wow you're planning close to what i have now lol.

Zebra Danio's don't work i've bought 10 and they all became food and gone the end of a month.

Giant Danio's work great but i'm down to my last 2. When they past I may try Tiger Barbs.

I grew out a Festivum, Gold Severum female, Convict Female, Leporinus; from juveniles.

Added the Rainbow 5 months ago and the Salvini 1 month ago.

yeah I would leave out the JD. Festivum's are very shy so you just gotta watch them.

thats what i was going to do is watch all the fish alot when i first get them, the firemouth will be the last in the tank, i was thinking about introducing them in this order.
1. danios already there
2. plecos and some other misc. fish
3. festivum
4. rainbow cichlid
5. severum
6. firemouth

btw can i see some pictures of adult green and gold severums i still cant decide on which one i want, i think im leaning more towards the green.
 
a 8 - 10 inch severum will wreck havoc in that tank if it decides to get hostile. make sure the danios are giant or they will be eaten.
