This deserves another journal...My 190g Wild Discus build!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My first real video shot with my Nikon D90. Video quality is pretty bad as my tank is dimly lit. I'm also still learning how to nail the manual focus, can be pretty tricky! The video is 720p but I don't know why it only gives you the option to go up to 420p

If anything, at least turn up the volume and enjoy the cool song :D

Thanks Morgan! Man seriously? Never thought I'd hear you say that! What you thinking of getting rid of? To be honest, you'll enjoy the tank more that way; more decor, less fish. They seem to behave differently too. It's really cool to watch the discus swim through the driftwood as opposed to having them in a bare empty tank.

Ive been trying to thin out my endli's and just keep the bigger/nicer ones. WHy not....ive got 15 of em :) And now im going through a 2.2# bag of massivore a month. Time to thin em out and make it easier on me and more pleasureable to the eye :) After looking at all these super cool scaped tanks.......I just gotta do it. May take some time tho.

Nice tank, nice looking fish, but god discus are boring.

 umm, ok... To each their own.

Cool vid J, I think you nailed it right at 33sec. That shot with all the disc's grouped and the shimmer on the top of the water... Beautiful!

LOL, I say the same about "monster fish". I've kept a lot of fish in big tanks, it's overrated and I'm over the fad :)

I totally agree with you here! I enjoy keeping smaller community fish, even in my larger tanks. As mentioned above, to each their own. I find discus, angels, and some other community fish to be very attractive, but on the boring side as far as activity and personality. Nice to look at but not anything I'm interested in keeping.

Jose, that's an awesome tank you have..compliments.
You've about convinced me to go ahead building my first monster tank for discus.
Tank was planned, but was not sure about going big like arowana or smaller like angel/discus or even neon/cardinals.
This does it, no biggies, only medium or small.

Keep up the great work! Every time I think about going to puffer tanks only I see your work and get reminded how nice biotopes and planted tanks can be. I then start to like my own SA tank more.
