these are my wild festae. the big male is about 3-3.5" right now. still cant tell if the other is female or just a not so colorful/less dominent male.

Im no expert but I was able to pretty much tell at about 3".

It depends on the Festae. Sometimes you can tell by 3", but often you can't tell until around 5"+.

I know the bigger one I got looks a lot like a male but you cant really tell until they are bigger

A lot of great Festae on this thread... great job everyone. This is my 10" male. I've had him for about a year and bought him at about 3.5" from a LFS. He is by far my favorite fish and the most dominate in my tank. Thanks.
