yea i dont really like the new jeeps for somereason. when i picture a jeep i see something a littlee less fancy and neat and a little more rugged. idk anything about the new engines though

make shore you get one the modles with coilsprings on them. Think theystarted in 97 or 98. The ones with leaf springs ride like total crap. If you lift it and put larger tires on it. you should change the gearing in the axles to match the new tire size. otherwise performance mpg will suffer way way more then u think it would. Avoid the 4 bangers. rubicon exspress makes a decent lift kit so does BDS BDS give lifetime warnty. If you dont plan on mudding it avoid supperswampers. If you plan on spending most your time in the woods swampers rule. If your keeping it on the street mostly y0ou cant go wrong with BFG AT . I wheel a 95 yj wrangler. Took it from main to cape hatteras to kentucky. it had 4 inch lift and 33s. There fun in the begining but eventualy you begin to hate them. Good luck have fun with it. Dont make it a street queen.
Also your in west va get a hard top and full doors. Or you will no when its snowing raining . Because its gonna be snowing and raining in your lap. lol Trust me

Jeeps are fun dont get me wrong. But eventualy I began to loath it. Once you do a 500 or 1k mile trip in a soft top jeep . You will understand. From age 24 to like 30 i wheeled in a wrangler. I wouldnt take one now, Unless it has the coilsprings The leaf spring one beat the hell out of you. Never comfortable. Wrangler has no room to sleep in it when you break down. And it will break down eventualy. Usely in the woods. lol Leaf springs suck in a wrangler. soft top and doors suck in the winter. Swampers ride like crap on street but are beastly in the woods.

straight 6 with the AX-15 tranny was a great combo. 5 speed manual
Had only a 3 inch bushing lift and a 2 inch body lift with 33 oversized tires. But it was the perfect size and i could go through everything. Made many trails threw the woods and was even known to knock down 30 foot trees hahaha. Didnt want to part with it but the 11mpg wasnt goin to happen as an everyday driver.
ill get another someday but not really a fan of the newer models. TJ all the way.
