Arowana tragedy - unbelievable leap

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I am sorry for your lose...but I have to agree with the others, by the looks of it your tank isnt even twice his body length...if the tank is too small Arowanas feel insecure and are more prone to jumping and they need a larger tank.

I agree the tank was small. it was just a lil over tweice its lenght but not bigh enough. The bigger tank is in staging and almost done; had another week or so before I was to transfer them in to the 300G tank.

Well there is a saying with arowanas. It may have taken ur bad luck with it and kept u and ur family safe on ur trip. Ahahahah it's a Chinese saying i have heard lol.

Cheon and Linh903 .. you are right. My dad and brother both said the same thing; it takes the band luck with them. It's a Chinese saying and also one of the Indian cultures believes the same. .. . well thanks for then thoughts guys . .

yea when my silver arowana jumped out my friends dad told him that he came home with another one
are you going to replace him?

Sorry to see that you ignored the warnings and did nothing to secure the top.

Your powers of observation(if any) obviously failed you. The fish is a tile and a bit more in length. The tank is about 4 tiles long. Besides, the Silver didn't jump straight out of the tank and landed where it lies now. Probably squirmed around till' it died. Sorry man, sucks to lose a fish.

I kind of call BS that your Aro is a 23". In 15 months, no way could a 2" Silver Aro grow to 23" in a 55g. It looks much smaller than 23", Around 16"-18".
