25cent carnival game, the one where you throw the ping pong ball into a fish bowl...I won it and now have had this damn goldfish for 10 years and its 12 inchs long and eats like a damn shark

Electric catfish

Just bought what was supposed to be a 75 gallon with "filter, heater, light, stand, and canopy."

It was a 55 gallon first off (in hindsight, I should have checked, but all I could see was the front face).

The filter didn't work once I got it home and set it all up.

The canopy and stand were very water damaged underneath where I couldn't see.

The light was burnt out.

The lids were broken.

So what I essentially got was a water stained 55 gallon tank, a light fixture, and a heater.....For $150.

Still upset about that :irked:

But looking back on it.....It wasn't so bad. Because the wife still let me get a 75 gallon (mostly because I was so upset since the species I wanted to keep need a 75g). So now I have a 55g on top of it all. And had that not happened like it did, no way would she have let me get a 75g and a 55g on top of all of the other fish stuff I already have. It would have been one or the other, but definitely not both. So it worked out well, but I just paid more than I would have liked.

So my lesson learned is:
Check EVERYTHING before purchasing. Make the seller have it set up and running. And bring a measuring tape to make sure the tank is what size they say it is (lengths can be deceiving in odd rooms).

worst buy would be 4 jewel cichlids, now i have close to 20, with another 100 little fry :irked: they multiply like nobodys buisness, i mean these things lays eggs like every week, and i constantly have to take all the eggs out before more are hatched They are pretty, but no store will buy em from me, so i end up buyin more and more tanks

this is a mistake that i made too.. i sold the babies after they got over 1" long in bags of a dozen for $5. and then i eventually found a fish store that would take the rest for $1 per fish.. i kept the male and female that were breeding, but i quit saving the babies and let the synodontis petricola catfish help the parents take care of the babies.. ;)

once bought a 3 inch silver aro and put it in my 55g grow out with my 5 inch dehlizi...the next morning the dehlizi had a big belly and mr aro was gone :(

Humu trigger. Dude was about 6" and I put him in with my 12" volitan lionfish. Owner of the LFS and myslf both assumed that since both were predators and the trigger was too large for the lion to swallow, it would be good. Wrong. The humu attacked and killed the lion within an hour. Raised the lion from a 3" juvenile. :irked:

Bought a pair of Breeding GT...next day found the male, JUMPED TO HIS DEATH!

Damn, the guy that sold them to me shoulda told me the GTs were going through a nasty seperation.
