Fantasy Football MFK League again

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
where'd you hear that? the only thing i've heard/read (i listen to alot of sports talk) not from an unnamed source is that he can't practice this week, has gotten worse this week and is healing slower then expected and that was quoted directly from the team. i hope he's alright. when you start talking about losing arm strength and neck problems you start thinking of the end of someones careers

I heard that on Yahoo; I linked the article in my previous post. Here's what the Colts said, and here's another article about this situation.

It's sad that he doesn't seem to be improving; he really prided himself on never missing a game. Hopefully this is all just hype, and he can recover.

oops, did not hover over your post and notice the link. checkin it out now

haha, i love the first paragraph of the that link.

When we say this report is "totally unconfirmed," what we mean is that A) the Colts have not confirmed anything, B) the player has not confirmed anything, and C) before Sunday night, I had not actually heard of the guy who broke the story. So this thing is just incredibly unconfirmed.

ps, i can't even bash yahoo reports, they were the ones that broke the reggie bush story and all the violations before the ncaa even investigated, also broke jim trassel story before he was fired and were the first to get info from nevin shapiro about all the miami players this year

almost feels like i wasted my first draft pick in a league where TDs are worth 10 points and there's a huge bonus for 300 yards passing games (QBs are your most valuable players in other words) but if he's back to finish the season it'd be great for my playoff push.

i feel really bad for him though because you know with the superbowl being in indy this year he's hungrier then ever as this truely is a once is a life time opportunity

Studying up today a bit. I have my money draft tomorrow. It is pretty different from standard drafts. You don't have match-ups. There are 11 teams, and if you got the highest score for a given week, you get 11 points. If you had the lowest score, you get 1 point. The team with the most points at the end of the season wins. In our MFK league, I think I had the best record (10-3) in 2010, and I still got 6th place. ballin got first last year, and his record was 9-4. The second and third place teams were 7-6. This is one reason I like my other league, because the person with the strongest team throughout the season wins. In our league, you can get screwed by a fluke loss in the playoffs.

Don't get me wrong, I still like the MFK league. It is fun to be matched up against a certain team each week.

This league's a lot more realistic in that aspect when it comes to being able to win it all. In the real world, teams get screwed on a regular basis by fluke losses in the playoffs.

Good point. It is a lot like regular football playoffs. I'm not saying that the team that won last year won on a fluke and was lucky. It was a good team.

Ah, gotcha.

I prefer this playoff setup over the one that you mentioned having for your other league mainly because of that realism; it adds a little more uncertainty into the mix.

in my big money league i won 4th place last year because of a fluke lost in the first round of the playoffs (my two starting running backs sat out that week and i had to play toby gearhart and chris ivory who got hurt in that game also, lost by 4 points) so i know how you feel. however, i led that league in scoring throughout the entire year by a huge margain and the fun would've been zapped out of it. i like the head to head and playoff format myself. there's so many different formats that you could honestly find a league for each one and not have it feel redundant to set your line up every week.

I'm now officially projected to go 12-1, I know its just projections, but it makes me feel great about my team. Hopefully when my last move is completed (waivers), I'll be done changing my team for a couple weeks.

at the beginning of the year the projections are just your season projection divided by the numbers of games in a fantasy season...they will change week to week once the season starts based on the team's opponents and the player's recent trend, just so you know. Sounds like you're on the right track though
