Thank you, I really like the personality and behavior of this pair. I havent seen many breeding pairs of festae that are as mellow as these two... hopefully that wont change.

LOL thanks Al, its the pairs first time raising fry and it looks like they were a lil rough with the fry as there seems to be a dramatically smaller head count now compared to fertile eggs. The female started placing them in gravel and buried a few, then moved them to a bare bottom spot lol and she was a lil too rough when mouthing and transporting them. I think i have around 60-80 left now that are gonna make it just fine. it sounds like a really small group but honestly i think it will be alot easier for me to manage versus a group of a couple hundred or more;) lol

Thank you, the male is definitely very nice:) as far as comparison goes its really just personal opinion. The Rio tumbes I just was really nice! But I'm going in a particular direction with my festae project including Ecuadorian only;)

Me too :D they are settling in nicely.

How old is this pair? I agree with you this male has some stunning colors. How is his temperment with fry in the tank? Is he still all over the female?
 
I'm not quite sure on age I'm guessing around a year. And his aggression towards the female is completely gone now. Is your pair coloring up yet?
