So my skimmer overflowed again. I've never used one of these before and would like some guidance. I set it yesterday so the bubbles were just barely overflowing into my collection cup but about four hours later the bubbles just started billowing over the cone in the collection cup while I was at work. The wide was home so she turned off the pump. Why the sudden increase in bubbles? When you're setting the flow you want the bubbles to just barely over flow right?
Luckily since my skimmer is an hob it can really only over flow about 5 gal before the pump runs dry and I've caught it every time before that's happened. Since I don't run a sump the only pumps that can run dry are my marineland hob and the skimmer... I'll just use a 5 gal bucket as a catch for worst case scenario but I obviously don't want my pump to run dry all day while i'm at work.
