jd and con problem :(

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
um is it normal that my tetras r fighting each other too? they r even nipping at the cons? wat the crap? i swear i should video this its kinda trippy, do they normally act just like cons?

I had a guppy and harlequin rasbora that used to chase and bite the convicts when they were under 2 inches. Some fish just have mean streaks. :grinno:

A lot of the smaller faster schooling fish will constantly chase. I had some longfin danios that would do nothing but torpedo about the tank playing tag 24/7.

It can be, they're bickering for leader of the pack. Just get a few more and they'll leave the Cons alone.

Indeed. I've got 6 black neons in a densely planted tank that routinely take each others fins off. :screwy:

yep.. just as u said i wake up to one of the tetras fins nipped at ugh.. cant we all just get along lol

just got back from the fishy store :) they didnt have any giant danios :( so i got three tiger barbs (getting three more soon) and two more black skirt tetras.. they are all schooling :D

Sounds good. Small groups of fish do help, just so long as the Cichlids don't eat them. I added 8 Giant Danios to my tank once and my Jag ate one within 2 minutes of it being in the tank... well a half of one lol. 3 jumped out and the other 5 were snacks. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

wow did u freak? i would have lmao.. the con is hard of seeing and the dempsey is more bothered by the con so i think (for now) they r safe :) um one question tho, if they r nipping at each other should i be worried about their fins? or are they used to it lol

he is prob trying to mate with her LOL, they will produce with anything

that would be crazy! would they be worth anything? i had the worst time getting rid of my 50 con fry lol

i have the opposite problem my convict keeps producing eggs when courting my jd male and you could add some melafix for stress relief and fin protection
