  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
This is a great thread. We recently bought 5 tiger barbs, and they died, and then we got 4 more and some rosey barbs and the tiger barbs died and the rosey barbs didn't. I thought that maybe we just had gotten fish that were not healthy. I hope that things turn out well for your fishies Alaina!

that sucks :( sounds horrible losing that many! i thought i got a dud from the store too..

Try something that sinks or presoak something like Omega one veggie or Super veggie. I prefer Xtreme brand foods, but they are not the easiest to come by, but if you can get it, it's the best stuff Ive used. Most petsmarts have omega one which is why I recommend it for convenience sake

The omega one super veggie as lots of greens which could help. A lot of the cichlid pellets have lots of animal proteins which are not necessarily bad, but are a bit harder to digest.....

If they ae eating the peas, keep them n that for a few days. Just squeeze the insides out of the skins and throw the skins away

I have had tiger barbs in the past and it has usually been swimming bladder that was the problem. I would say also you only got 3 when you get a shoaling fish it is a good idea to do it by 2's or pairs. It also usually helps differ there anger towards each other and nipping at other fish in the tank.

is it like all the time, i had tiger barbs that were so greedy they used to gulp there food down and swim funny for a couple of hours.

ok well they sound a bit irritating lol even if i get them the right food, they r going to go to the top and try to eat the other fishes food (con and dempsey)

i got tropical granules that slowly sink... the one that was going crazy finally started swimming normal :) my dempsey and convict dont mess with any of them :)
