  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i just use pay and go now,,i had a bill 1 b4,and the robbers wer billing me for calls that i never even made, had a hell of a time tryin to get out of the contract to

We have a few companies here, Metro,Cricket I don't know if they are national or not but Metro I've used and they are pretty good. They have a decent selection of phones from basic no camera flip phone on up to Blackberry types,no contract, and less than fifty bucks per month.

I don't think you'll find an equivalent camera on a run of the mill phone. Can't you just have data removed from your plan & keep the phone you have now? Then you could even still use data when your near a wifi connection

I have a Pantech that was $40 at AT&T about a year ago. It looks sort of like a blackberry. It has treated me well, I don't know if the camera is much to write home about though. I only really use it for voice calls with some texting. There is no way I could ever justify paying the extra for the data package.

I had that phone before I upgraded to the Iphone 4. Its pretty awesome, but the picture quality is boo boo.

If he uses AT&T, he is required to have a data plan to use any smart phone.

You have to sign up for data in order to get the phone but once you get the phone you don't have to keep data. I just gave my mother my old iphone 4 (AT&T), took my sim out, put hers in, done.

Did she have an Iphone 4 before?

this worked because she wasn't sold the iPhone from at&t. If she was sold the iPhone new from at&t it would be in her contract that she has to have data, but after the contract expires you can drop the data and continue using the same phone if it still works.

i'm with verizon. spoke with a verizon agent yesterday, said to drop the data, i gotta use a phone that's not a smart phone. what the hell?

why they do that? why not just take away my data and let me use the phone?

That's how they get you. The phone would work perfectly fine with no data connection, but it's part of the contract.

What phone do you have? Most Verizon phones don't use a SIM card at all, unless you have one of the newer 4G phones. As for downloading apps and stuff, sure, you just have to do it on a wifi connection. You should be able to do everything you can right now on wifi, with the exception of making phone calls and text messaging.
