Cleanup crew for ray tank ??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Good sized rays - you were right to sell the orange heads, a 14" could easily snack on them....

I wish i never sold my Altifrons a couple years back.. :( They were super nice and big too.. I think my Geo's are safe "for now".. They're 8" right now, and my rays are 14, 14, 12, & 11.. I might have to take a look at Silver Dollars, i've never been a fan of them, but might have to change my mind if they can get the job done..lol

if you get some black bar, they get pretty big.

I took a 2 year break from raykeeping due to $$ issues.. :( Trying to feed 7 large rays and owning my own business that was going down hill didn't work out to well for me.. I just jumped back in a month ago.. I figured i'd wait a month to make sure all was still cool in my tank before doing an update.. When i get home tonight i'll try and post up some pics.. :)
I've been kicking myself for the last 2 years for selling off all my rays but it was something i had to do, not a want to do.. :(

I had tinfoils too.... All became lunch. I have a lemon finned Barb that seems much smarter about where to safely swim then the tinfoils were. Very pretty fish too. Highly recommend.

Brycon (Mele-something species) work well. They grow stupid fast, so even lil couple inchers will be safe from your rays in 6 months or less.

When it comes to cats I've only ever had one successfull species and that is Irwinnis. Never have to worry about the rays eating them and they are so passive and gentle they will NOT outcompete the rays for food.

Save room for a Marble pup! I know I still owe you a hell of a deal on one, and I'm hoping for decent production in the next few months.

I would love to get my hands on some Lemon Finned Barbs.. I've been looking for them for almost 5 years up here in Washington and no one ever has them.. :(

Took me driving to the Twin Cities to find them here....

I've seen them on Rapps lists before.

Worse comes to worse, IF you're willing to pay shipping I can snag a bunch from the LFS up there and drop them off to Shawn to ship to you AP to AP. I think they're typically like $15 for lil guys.

I'll have to think about doing that.. How fast do those guys grow anyway ?? Maybe i'll grab a few and sell some off to help pay for the shipping cost.. :)
