Fahaka: The gateway puffer.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
ya I want a puffer, by far favorite salt water fish, and I know fresh water would be great also but I already have enough fish and too many more I want :-)

Produce dept sells mussels that are pretty small. I can get a big bag of them at Tony's, already frozen.

I was eyeballing a congo at the lfs the other day. They wanted a little too much for him, though.
Where in Ky are you? Our family is from Mt. Vernon.

Sorry for replying so long. I got my little Congo puffer for $15.00. I know, I got a heck of a deal on him. Btw, I live near Owensboro, Ky.

Beware--if he's been feeding it feeders for any length of time, it may not last long. Early death due to fatty liver disease. I had one last only 6 weeks. Did a necropsy & the liver was hard as a rock & yellow.

PP, he fed my Congo puffer feeder Rosey Red minnows. I only fed my Congo puffer them until I got him on Earthworms but was not to long before he eat the worms. Im going to start him on frozen food since I believe he will take them since he loves to eat. And I never overfeed. Btw, Im sorry about your little Congo.....:(

Just thought I'd chime in with my gateway puffer. He was a dwarf puff :) lovely little things. Mushroom the fugu was definitly a learning curve. The lfs he came from said he was "just like a fig 8" to look after, and stupidly I believed them :-S
One day I'd love to have a dogface puffer, every time I see that little face in a lfs I just want to take one home!! Seen the perfect tank for one too, but it was about 700 quid. Crap at exchange rates, but I think thats well over 1000 dollars. The o/h said no funnily enough...lol.

Only thing other than fish my Congo will eat is worms. I tried & tried dead foods but he just won't eat them. At least it's not fish!
