Official TANKED (Television Show) Discussion Thread

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Lol! I dunno what everybody else thinks?... but personally, I try not to look at it from a 'Hater's' point of view. I'm just glad to see something Aquatic-Fish related being shown on TV. I mean this just shows you that the 'Hobby' movement is definitely growing more and more and getting more exposure. And to me, that's what MFK'ing is all about... ]\/[oving Forward Kontinuesly!

I mean regardless of all the added dramatization, just take in everything that you can from the show (knowledge, material, fish, hardware, business, etc.?) from a positive perspective, soak it in, and learn from it. Get the most out of it! :headbang2

I think its a good show, afterall the shows called tanked which focuses more on custom tank builds...

I watch the show. It's not educational, but it's not designed to be that way. Like watching "whipped" or "pimp my ride", they don't go into detail about wiring headrest monitors, port length calculating, impedence matching, fiberglass resin mixing ratios. It's all about the 'wow' factor with these shows. They have to script to make it more appealing to a larger audience. If it was directed towards a specialized niche, it wouldn't be on saturday primetime... I did like the fx5 on the spade tank as well, lol.

I would bet things are edited and exaggerated for TV- they probably took out 1/2 those angels in the pinball tank when it was done filming, they may bring some seeded bio material with them, but that 'week' deadline they have is closer to a month or so. They're not stupid, you don't build a business like theirs killing fish. (think of all the times you've read about someone buying a tank from * company and their fish dying, due to a bad batch of silicone, how quick were they to fix the issue because their reputation was on the line?)
