PS-- did you use the fish-scented rope lures or just net? looks like what we would expect from spotteds through out the variations across the range, but further pics will help with the nuances. the species is of course quite variable--
just a 18'' net, that's why the female got a way
I will try to take some pic later on as the fish seem stress and won't stay still, this is what I have for now
PS: It was in a semi-clear plastic bin I just bought at walmart for picture as i don't have any glass tank bigger than 10G (the fish is temporary being kept in a 100 stock tank). The measurement: exact length is 23.4'', length of the head from tip snout to the end of gill is 5.5'', the length of the snout to the eyes about 3.5'' (length of head and snout was measure from the top along the middle line of the snout)
you just had to go and put your foot in your mouth not even a dozen posts later....i was just letting you know were i was comming from about your posts.nice "florida gar" i also would like to know how you got it because i am looking for ways to convince the gars up here to get caught.
