yupLet me guess, Petsmart Red Texas/Local Store Red Texas? They are some kind of Texas Kamfa Flowerhorn mix. I know there is Texas, Vieja, and Silk Flowerhorn but as far as actually parents I don't know. Would love to know who Segrest gets them from.
Thats what I thought. Consider it a Kamfa Flowerhorn and not a Red Texas. They have Texas in them but nothing that makes them a Red Texas, they are turning out Kamfa Flowerhorn. They start out rather plain but after a month of growing they start to look much nicer.

You can think it but its not. There is Texas and I would assume Synspilum or Hartwegi would be in it as well but its not a straight Texas x Syn. All the fish coming from Petsmart as Red Texas are from the same parents and are all siblings. When it comes to hybridizing nothing comes out the same, its not a cookie cutter situation. You have many different variations so they will look different. The pearling you see on your fish isn't from Texas, its from Thai Silk but I do know there is Texas in it because of the way some of the others are developing.ok i still think mine a Red Head cichlid X texas

If it's a hybrid between a Texas and a kamfa it's not going to look exactly like one or the other. Also there are many variations between FH's already. You could have a kamfa that leans more towards the classic kamfa looks rather then the modern kamfa looks. There is also black kamfas, high pearl kamfas, high red kamfas, 2 tone kamfas, kamfas with red eyes, kamfas with silver eyes, kamfas with yellow or orange eyes, kamfas with half and half colored eyes or even 2 eyes with different colors, you can even find kamfas with double flowerlines. My point is is that since FH's are all hybrids they all have many many variations between then, you can even have siblings that don't look anything alike just like my 2 girls I have currently. Both have the same parents and came from the same batch of fry but they look nothing like one another, I'll post a couple pics of my 2 to show the massive difference between them.ok well my friend told me it not a Kamfa Flowerhorn. he has a Kamfa Flowerhorn and it doesn't look like mine
