It's only about 3" long do I'm not sure how accurate the sexing of this fish is. I will try to get more pics but it's hard to photograph.

should be sexable at 3 inch, that being said, I believe it's female, but I'm by no means an expert
Agreed, it should be apparent at that size what the sex is.
I notice that Jack Dempseys are overbred/inbred to the point where in local store fish, you see lots of specimens with fewer pearling and some with deformities.

Yeah I agree. Ingot it for $3 at a chain LFS. I'm pretty sure it's female because of the spangles around its bottom gills but the camera won't show it. I was really hoping for a show fish.
