Hey guys i just picked up a marineland eclipse 3 , 40 gallon tall tank i think. It measures 30Lx12Wx22H paid 20 bucks for everything including stand , built in filter hood and light top , and heater , i was thinking about making this a fry grow out tank for my jewels but is that a good idea using a tall tank? if not then i wanted to make this a Predatory tank any ideas of what kind of fish i can put in it? first pic is of when i got it , second pic is of when i cleaned it , ill post more pics once i get it setup=)

yeah he originally wanted 30 but thats the beauty of craigslist , you can low ball , do you know any predatory fish i can manage to put in here?

I would suggest a rocket gar (Characin) or African Butterfly fish.
I have previously kept a rocket gar and they are pretty aggresive feeders

how big do full grown rocket gars get? and would i beable to keep a full grown one in this tank? never heard of it , i would love to have this fish , thanks for telling me bout it! =)

Yeah they get to 7" maybe 8" full grown but average is around 6

As for puffers Indian dwarf puffers,avocado puffers,red eye puffers,red tail puffers, man there's a good quantity

oh hell yeah im getting me some puffer fish for my 60 gal , thanks for the info bro any specific one you prefer for a first timer? , im also looking to buy a rocket gar anyone know where i can get one in fresno ca or online?
