I need help....tank leaked completely out

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks guys. I used some stresszyme and ill buy some from a nearby pet store that i like. Thats what i was afraid of after adding that water. I was getting them confused...the stress coat plus and the stuff i had. I guess i panicked when i saw the water and my fish having just enough space to be where they were. My sisters scared the floor is gonna buckle bc of the wood, and wondering why i keep adding water to a leaking tank....i messed up with the arowana and hopefully did enough to save the rays. Theyre alive today but ill continue to monitor the water parameters and ive also received so good suggestions about storing the fish. Thanks...please continue to let me know if you guys come up with anything else. Thanks

Thanks anarekist... They were in a 90g, which was supposed to be temporary..then I got a 180 I was supposed to transfer them to...but never set up because I decided to sell them to get a larger one. Thats why its an even bigger slap in the face. I should've just set up the 180! But that is unfortunately the past...I waited a little too long to get things moving. Hopefully something good will come of this. I've had a lot of really great people helping me out so I'll hopefully find a solution soon. I would've went to work late if I didnt have a meeting.

Only thing I would suggest i get yourself some Prime or Ammo Lock to be on hand, if you ran those filters with water that had chlorine it probably killed your BB. All the new water being introduced to the filters could also cause your BB to crash, should be ready to deal with ammonia spikes just in case. Would also advise not feeding them for a while. As long as you keep the ammonia levels under control your rays have a good chance of pulling through for a few days until you can get something bigger setup. Good luck.

Anyone adding tap water to any tank should use a dechlorinator of some sort, how were u doing water changes before?

I have always thought I would fill my bath in an emergency but you would need to keep the plug protected.

Sent tazjack a PM earlier today. He can always bring them over to my house till he gets everything sorted out instead of wasting money on a tub. I'm not to far away from him.

Thanks John..I'm afraid that it may happen, but I wont know until I get home. Walmart doesnt sell Prime so I picked out a conditioner they had, and added more stresszyme. Just Toby: I normally use Prime. I used the rest of it the day before when I did a water change (of course not anticipating having to need it again the next day). I tried to find a good container, I didnt think about the tub. The water was almost gone out of the tank so the 4th thing I finally came across was the box the rays came in. So will trying to keep the tank from draining completely...filling the new tank...and catching water from the leaking tank to put the rays in, it was pretty crazy. Fortunately my sister came home right after I did to get the water up while I was setting up the other tank. I think that it leaked because it was not situated on the stand properly...or the back ledge of the stand started to give. Which ever it was, the stand was a little inside of the back ledge so the stress probably caused a leak. I literally came home right as the rest of the water was draining out. Not so fast, but fast enough that I needed to fill it a few times. Then to find the rays in black sand in 2 inch water was nuts...They fought, but I got them out. I just hate that I lost the arowana...but hopefully wont lose the rays. Thanks to silentbob and gx...I have some options for tanks and temporary homing for my fish. Like I told them...I was desperate and did not expect a single response. It is very comforting knowing that you there are people like you guys willing to help. I dont have much...but I am semi in debt to you all:)
