FISHING SEASON 2K12!!!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
nice sized king bud, id have been casting to the bonita if i had brought a light setup!

Ive caught enough bonita and its not worth getting covered in blood for a trash fish. Its funny though, a few years ago before I started salt water fishing I would have fished all day for a fish that would just rip out line. Now its such a common occurrence that its not even worth the hassle anymore unless its really big or really good to eat.

Andrew1002, are you for real? The pictures you have.....the first one is longear, the rest is bluegill. There are NO redears in Minnesota and the sunfish in my picture is all bluegills.

Lol I was meaning to direct to the guy you are commenting to. The one with redears. Just looked over the post and noticed that.

Business as usual at the neighborhood lake 8" crappie within 5 minutes and nothing for a hour until I landed a 2# lmb. About half an hour later I got this catfish on a size 4 Mepps Agila. Other than a few bullheads as a kid and what someone told me was a channel 20 years ago I haven't caught any catfish. What species is this? It was 3-4" longer than both my size 12 shoes end to end, any guestimates on the weight? Never understood catfishing but now I see the light!

That looks a little like a large yellow bulkhead

Andrew1002, just please don't be expert and save yourself from embarrassing yourself further. This is channel catfish, not yellow bullhead or bluegill.

channel catfish.. not even close to a bullhead.... input not needed or wanted if you don't have any idea what you're talking about. as far as weight that fish is in the 3-3.5 pound range - nice catch! always fun on light tackle
