Growthrate and max size- Marbles vs Motoro

I'm sure if I get them on pellets they probably would have a faster growth rate.

Why would you use ro ?you live in Vancouver area. You have amazon water straight out the tap almost lol
Lucky guy.id give my left one to live in van again , It was the fans that drove me back lol

Even 2" in 10 months is a good growth rate . I've seen slower and faster.ive had rays just stop growing while the others kept on going. they hit spurts from what I've seen .

Ya there's no real reason to but I do know some fish keepers here who do use RO due to all the chemicals in our tap water. I'm no RO expert but I know at times we do have high phosphate levels and other crap in our water. It's not as clean as everyone thinks it is.

I must side with Davidw on this about water changes and diet. I have seen many LFS and farms here in Asia do 95% water changes daily and there fish are doing great. I have also seen monster marbles, and black rays well over 24 inches

because heating 1000 gal of water everyday costs a bomb you would need 4kw of heaters running 24/7 to keep the temp at 78-80
 
You know reverse osmosis runs optimal at around 18-22 degrees. The membrane will even last longer. I run all 4 my drip/ro systems with water around about 15 to stay safe. My washing machine interferes with my temp sometimes I've felt hot water going through ,I've eliminated that by added valves but even with hot it did no damage.
 
Sorry don't get on the forums much and rarely take pictures anymore but here is a picture of my marble about a year and half ago maybe two at the most and possibly two inches smaller than now. There is no pattern change from then to now.

Well thank you what a gentleman And what a beautiful creature with very crisp marbleing for such a large size;)was not certain this was the one he spoke of....Just think guys a ray of that size would have to weigh 25 to 30 pounds!!!WOW!!!
