Got to the dam last night about 7 for bait and saw a guy catch a 2 pound flathead and immediately thought it was going to be a good day. We got to our flathead spot a bit later just before dark and started out with small bait and cut bait for channels or bass and had some runs and no hookups, probably gar. Sun went down and we start throwing out our live bait and have several rods in when a group of probably 10 high school girls and one guy come down and start talking about swimming amongst themselves. This is a very small space and small river. Two kick their shoes off and start walking into water in a gap between my poles that are only about 15 feet apart. By now I was really pissed off. They go back and sit down right next to me on a fallen tree trunk, talking like I am not even there. They say "are we even going to be able to swim". I said "hell no, theres going to be another rod right there and there are going to be lines everywhere". So they finally give up and decided to leave. All rods out and no action for about 2 hours when a flashlight starts coming down the path shining down on us and into the water and at our rods. The bridge and path is about 30 ft up. Conservation officer starts down talking to us. No big deal since we have licenses and the proper amount of poles in the water, but he kept shining that bright light into the water. He was nice though and sat and talked for 30 min or so, but frustrating with that light. Still no luck. Packed up at midnight and headed to the dam to try there. By now a storm was blowing in and only set up a couple rods. ONly fished for an hour here and as we were packing up, my buddy went and checked his last pole and there was a little 4 pound flatty on there. Nice night and we saved the skunk but not very much action.
