Depends on the play sand. The kind home depot carries is really dirty and get sucked into the filter.

oh ok . well i know its pretty clean if the company sells it for kids sand boxes. we had a pallet break with the sand on it and spilt the sand all over the place . i was sweeping sand for 2 hours it looked pretty clean other then all the dust and dirty that was already on the floor.

play sand is dirty its meant for play boxes outside but it will clean up with alot of rinses pool filter sand is what i like best thats just my opinion but did you get that quartz sand?

play sand is dirty its meant for play boxes outside but it will clean up with alot of rinses pool filter sand is what i like best thats just my opinion but did you get that quartz sand?

i wasnt just going to throw it in with out cleaning it first i just wanted to know if its aquarium safe . im leaning more toward taking some sand from the creek near my house. cant get any more natural then what comes from nature.
