Why is it that azuls and kelberi are still so highly priced even though the market is now flooded with each species ?

$125 for 2.5 in fish of either cichla species ?

Kind of high.

not so sure either, i for one think that orinos are far better looking than azuls and kels and they're cheap at $15 for 2" =D.....most azuls just end up looking pale and kels just look a yellow version of ocells/monos

May I ask how many Azul and how many Kelberi do you have?

To someone, a Hyundai or Kia may look better than a BMW or Mercedes, but it doesn't mean a Hyundai or Kia is better than a BMW or Mercedes...

I have yet to come across someone delusional enough to think that Hyundai and Kia look are or are better than BMW but back to the topic,I'm looking forward to seeing other members chime in with their opinions on the subject.

As long as people are willing to pay a price for any item (fish, car ,house) it will still sell high when people lose Interest in paying that much for something the price will come down

Its not the supply that is keeping the price high, its the cost of actually getting them to the US. Both species are native to brazil and they are very strict on wild collecting certain fish, peacock bass being one of them. As for Bahias which are captive bred, due to peacock bass not being an easy genus of cichlids to breed, the price is still relatively high. Also despite what some think, kelberis and azuls are both very good looking bass.

The thing is Azul and Kelberi It's not luck some have Beautiful fish It's dedication :headbang2..They will become and stay colorful IF you take care of them and maintain them correctly $100 to $200 is not exeptionally high for a fish and personally i wish the price would stay that way there are not YAHOOOOOS !!!!! getting these Beautiful fish then systematicley destroy a fish with all kinds of potential ..If your not willing to pay $$$$ then your probly not willing to do the work these fish need and deserve!!!!!! Just my Opinian.....
