I just dug up a photo of the wild Rio Meta orino I got from Rapps last fall. I just took a few photos of the Rio Yucao orinos I got from Rapps 2 weeks ago.
The Rio Meta and Rio Yucaos are at the same size in these photos. Photos taken in same tank with same camera.

You be the judge.

Rio Meta is top photo , next 3 are Rio Yucao.

I added the wild Rio Yavari orinoco oscar I also got from Rapps.

As with all cichla, the coloration will become much more apparent when they get to be 6" or bigger. It would be great to see the same side by side at that size.

Nice oscar!

They eat like pigs and are taking hikari carn sticks whole exclusivly. They still get blood worms as desert.

The oscar is non-violent so if he's a dope , thats great for me.

Very nice!! I have 2 Rio yucao from rapps as well. They have easily doubled in size since I got them. They are feeders at the moment cause I had to get them a bit bigger to put with my bigger Rio araguaia kelberi. They are all in a 30 growout right now but hopefully in the next few days I can get them in my 75. I'll Try and get some new pics soon.

Be glad you got the Yucao orinos because they are no longer available on Rapps site.

Mine are approx. 2 & 3/4 inches now. I give pellets and after they gorge on pellets then frozen blood worms as a desert.

I never gave live and never will.
