Yeah they are quite rare indeed. Ive been wanting retros for years and just a few months ago they started poping up here and there, so I jumped on them. They will be around though just keep your eye out.

The ones Dan-Ye are selling are 6-8" for $280 each last time I seen them on her website

does these fish really need strong currents or currents? Is a lot of air sufficent to keep these fish? i just don't like having powerheads in the tank
Yes they should have a good powerhead in there aswell as a great oxygen supply. The reason they need it is because they come from the rapid waters from the rio tocantins and araguaia and retros have a modified swim bladder that allows them to sit in the current without the current pushing them away. Thats why people refer to them as "the goby" of eartheaters, since they stay at the bottem most of the time.
