So I've been selling some things I don't need on Craigslist so I can start reselling some things and doing this as a part time job. I usually don't put my cell number on the ad, just let them reply then give it out. I just got a reply on an ad and this dude flipped out and was acting like there was no way to get ahold of me or where I live. I put the city in and he obviously used email so he's an idiot and won't get the item now, but still should I just start putting my number in the ads?

Another question. In this day of age people text. I texted someone since he gave me his number and didn't say not to and he flipped out on me. Seriously just tell me. Do you think it's a problem to text someone if they leave a number on a ad?

Other than these 2 idiots all is going well, lol.

In answer to your first question, I never put my number in my ads. I always mention "email me for contact info" and have never had any problems. Don't let one weirdo ruin your idea of what and what not to do. Stick with your gut feeling.

Question 2: Even with the ridiculous amount of people who have smart phones, there are still many who do not. If you text these people who don't have texting on their account, they are charged between .05 and .20 per text, so i can understand why someone who is used to a set amount on their bill being a little pissed. With no texting, they are charged to send OR receive.

Hope I've helped!

I won't post my number in an ad either, but in my experience most people are smart enough to figure out how to contact you through email. As for the texting issue, I would rather text someone than call them and if they have a number listed and don't specify not to text then I assume it is ok to do so.

I put my number on there and have never had a problem. I can't stand when people don't. My computer is stupid (aka i am and don't know how to work it) and i can't get it to e-mail back. So i have to pass on purchases i would like to make.

i usually put my numbers in ads and just say text me for more info and u just gotta be smart enough too weed out the weirdos and scammers that want u too drive 2hrs for u to give them something in a terrible part of a city.

I put my number and list no email, cuts done on the spammers and the idiots wanting to know if ya still have the item :screwy: Have yet to have a problem when listing my number have a better much better results when dealing with no shows.

I regularly troll Clist for new phone numbers...

I used to do the email-then-give-number, but if you're gonna use Clist as much as you say, you'll get just as sick of it as I did and start putting your number...

i want phone numbers for ease of contacting. i leave mine so you could get at me. emailing takes forever and just blows. texting can get iffing as some people get charged extra for it. you just costed them 30 cents or something. when i say text me at blank, they call me instead. its wonderful.
