woah, loads of pages now. all I can say is, the OP was talking in general about his experiences in Singapore so lets not get carried away "Americanizing" this
every country in the world has had problems with non native fish and wildlife establishing itself. sometimes as early as like the 1700's. its not as unnatural as you might think.

Living in florida all my life, seeing all the new invasive species that have littered all our waters these years. It sucks, but everything will work itself out in the end. Nature will work itself out in the end, but that does not mean we can be wreckless just because we want to. Its funny to see the fish that actually thrive the most here, I'd say its Salvini. Theyre freakin everywhere. We have nile perch in our waters here now. Its pretty much screwed there. I say we just throw a bunch of adult black nasties out and let em have their fun!

I still like my nuclear power plant idea. Think about it if you a unwanted redtail catfish it could be released there with no problem surviving the winter. It would be sweet to release a big population of peacock bass into there to. Paroon shark no problem dump him in there to.

Obviously you dont read the whole statement the OP stated "Carp and Snake Heads in the great lakes are just some freak occurrences... Nature should be able to take its course... Survival of the fittest...As it always has been.
Carp and Snakeheads will not survive long pr flourish in the frigid waters up north anyway
".....HE is talking about the invasives in the Americas. His post is pure ignorance.

People once thought other hybrids were impossible also. Not saying that all hybrids are possible, but I saying just because you have not seen it or it has not happened yet does not mean it is impossible. Word to the wise even when you think before you typed or talked does not mean you thought enough. If somebody says you hurt their feelings common courtesy is to apologize not to act superior and show off your intellect. I did however find your first post to be effing hilarious, but I have a tendency to like off the wall and offensive humor.

If I offend someone accidentally, I will apologize. However when someone is so thin skinned as to get offended by something so obviously sarcastic and try to guilt me into feeling bad, I feel justified in having a little fun.

I did consider my words. Very carefully, as a matter of fact. I have a kid, a dog and two cats. If you take my obviously facetious discourse of exasperation and try to make me feel bad, you will fail. Honestly, I do not care. Had you chosen your words a little more carefully, and made them truthful, you might not have written something on the internet that caused you to be embarrassed.

As for the DNR representative that told you this patently false information; yes, he or she is an idiot. I challenge you to provide citeable proof of your claim. I rest easy berating your friend because I know there is no proof to be found. I personally believe my theory that asian carp are breeding with snakeheads to spawn a super invasive hybrid in order to get into the Great Lakes, and I can quote saying that I heard it from someone, too. I can even provide a wikipedia article! Just give me 15 minutes! We can then argue our theories' verisimilitude ad nauseum. If you provide me citeable proof that the pbass and lmb are breeding, I'll publicly admit I'm wrong and apologize for hurting your feelings. But that's not gonna happen. yhbt.

edit: after further deliberation, it is clear to me that the concept of sarcasm escapes you.

I think you missed the part where i said i learned something new... your argueing with yourself... im not arrogant or stupid... WOW.. the only embarassment i feel is that i had bad info from a trusted source, and shared it. maybe you shouldn't assume im being sarcastic or an ass...

I am a sarcastic ass who makes a living hurting people's feelings. Sometimes that carries over a bit. I regret nothing I said, but I did take exception to your attempting to guilt me over your having children, seeing a dead kitten and having a friend who has a kid that's abused. I know what I said. I accept full responsibility for it and I will not feel guilty. I'm happy you learned, I didn't even see that, I simply saw a chance to have some fun. No hard feelings on this end. :)

First time ive added anyone to my ignore list. Oddball since we have your attention or anyone else for that matter, im assumeing since they cant hybridize that rumor is a result from the cichla eating the lmb fry as well as other species? lmb are good parents but protecting fry against brutes like cichla would be hard? or are a different invasive eating them? or is it all BS and the lmb populations just fine in Fl?
