Where the fish go.
So I have a 5 gallon planted tank with shrimp init and hasn't been changed in over 6 months(and that was just moving plants around in the tank so its more like a year) , so while cleaning the filter today i found something living in it! Freaked me out lol but i got some pics of it and hopefully you guys can ID it for me, my dad is saying it might be a dragon fly larva but how the heck would that get in there.

Yeah sorry i didn't mean to post in the salt and brackish section i didn't notice i was in the wrong section, or maybe it's the right section lol im not to sure where this all into place :P

looks like a dragon fly larva

Yea I would say df larva

Sent from my Ally using MonsterAquariaNetwork App

It's a damselfly nymph. The trilobe tail is actually the larva's gills. Damselflys look somewhat like dragonflys. Difference being, at rest, dragonflys hold their wings out (perpendicular) to the body (like plane wings). Damselflys hold their wings close to (parallel) the body.

Do You have in the fish in the tank? I would put a micro(?) in there just to combat such a thing. It would freak me out too.
