I can't say I disagree with your picks. From a week 1 perspective it looks good on paper, however in the NFL things never seem to pan out they way you think it will or should.

I would have never picked the Giants as Super Bowl champs last year, comming from a life long die hard fan I didn't see that comming.

The 49ers are a very good team with argueably the best D in football so we'll see how they hold up, I like their chances this year. I said last season who ever wins the Giants 49ers game would win the Super Bowl. I think the Pats are headed down hill their time has past. Jets could be a force in the AFC East and if they can keep from impolding have a shot at a playoff berth. As far as Dallas goes, like I said before they put so much effort into gearing the team to beat the Giants, not being the Giants might give Washington the edge it needs......time will tell. I don't follow all the other teams close enough to make an educated guess on where they will end up. One other note I'm not sure about the Saints being the NFC wild card. I'll go out on a limb here and predict the NFC wild card will come from the East this year. We'll have to revisit this on week 8 and see how it's holding up. Decent picks, we'll see.

I see the 49ers as the best contender in the NFC since their defense is pretty much intact from last year plus they got some upgrades on offense. I agree with you on the Patriots which is why I think the Ravens will be able to clinch homefield advantage; however, I do see the Jets imploding at some point, so time will tell as to if they'll make a difference in their division. The NFC East is kind of a mess like you said which is why I think the Redskins have the edge; the Redskins appear to be the only team that's really made some major improvement player-wise between this season & last season. However, I definitely think that you may be right about one of the Wild Cards coming from the NFC East this season; the Saints seem to be having quite a few issues at this point that may or may not be due to their coaching woes, so they certainly could miss the Wild Card spot.

this will be my lone post of the day here

if wiggles prediction holds true it'd be the legendary harbaugh bowl featuring 2 head coaches who are brothers

solid picks. it's nitpicking but look at the schedules and tell me if you still think the ravens can edge out the patriots for home field advantage.

I've been wanting a Harbaugh Bowl ever since I started to watch football; it just seems like the ultimate match-up in terms of how close the game should be & how much more meaning it would have.

I do think that the Ravens can still pull off homefield advantage despite having a much more difficult schedule, especially if they do beat the Patriots in Week #3. I see the Patriots as having some trouble with teams that shouldn't cause them trouble, so that's partly why I don't think that they'll get homefield advantage; I'd be willing to bet that they miss it for sure if the Jets manage to split their meetings 50/50 or even get a sweep.

9ers all day !!! All Im saying

Sent from your wifes car!

HTTR...But it is a long season.

it's a long season and anything can happen along the way,so I expect my picks to change but,sf vs wash/den vs ne =wash vs den

hold on hold on...what is that? your afc, nfc and superbowl picks? haha

If you've been reading my posts you know I'm predicting Washington to have a good season in the NFC East. Picking them to be in the NFC Championship Game and then going to the Big Show might be a little over optomistic at this point. I like your zeel but lets not put the cart before the horse. QBs take a pounding in the East.

I love the redskins. But you cannot take a team that hasnt won more then 6 games the last 2 years and think they are top 2 teams in the NFC after only 1 game. This is why redskins fans have such a bad rep haha.

although it's not a stretch when you consider the nfl is all about parity. The best team last year was 9-7.The redskins beat them twice, and almost beat s.f.
In addition to that,we have been rebuilding for 3 years. The qb was the final piece.and Greg, you should be ashamed for not believing in your team.
did you hear the fans cheering for rg3 at the superdome?I did.Maybe you're the reason? Are you a real fan?
Personally,I would never really pick these games before the halfway mark, but i'm just playing along w/these know it alls. It's impossible to predict. If anyone gets it right now ,it's pure luck. But here is some good advice-don't base your predicts on last year.Look back-rookie qbs can win the championship.

Any team that does good in the east has a good chance to win it all.You know this already
